The 2001 Girls Junior Olympics (Junior Nationals) were held in Sandy Utah, in the South Towne Exposition Center, a few miles south of Salt Lake City. 6000 girls on 575 teams competed for the gold, silver, and bronze medals. The event lasted 12 days to accommodate all teams and age groups. Most teams had four days of competition within their age group divisions.
